The group discussing concept ideas:
The song we chose is Blue Cassette by Friendly Fires.
We chose this song as it fits in with our genre. It does not have a music video therefore meaning we can make a creative, original video for the song without having something to compare it to. The upbeat tempo will make it fun to create a video to and the lack of narrative in the lyrics it means we have lots of choice when it comes to deciding what type of video to make.
There are 4 of us in our group; Me, Nicole, Chris and Kris. We all do different subjects in which should help us with this project in different ways. Each of us shall get a chance to film and edit a bit of the video therefore their are only curtain roles we need to divide up.
Chris' role will be sound. He does music and plays the guitar therefore will know what needs to be done. Chris may also be in the actual video, depending on the characters needed.
The other Kris' role will be lighting. Chris has previously helped with this kind of thing therefore it will be a great help to our piece.
Nicole's role will be costume/props. She is quite arty and creative therefore will be good at thinking up suitable attire for the video. Nicole will also be taking the pictures for the album cover and video as she does photography. Nicole may also be in the video.
My role is going to be sound, with chris. I do music tech and music so i should be able to help in that way. I may also be in the video, depending on parts needed.
We have decided that we will all help decide on location together as we think this will have a better outcome.
When first given the brief we started to discuss bands and artists we all liked. When we had decided on a few we researched them online and found that most of them were not British bands/artists therefore we were not able to use their songs. Although this was a bit upsetting, we still found some really good bands to choose from! After narrowing these choices down we realised that all our artists fit into a few genres therefore when it cameto deciding one genre it was quite easy for us.
