Foo Fighters- The Pretender
Location
Lighting
The lighting in the beginning of the video starts as dark, low key lighting. It is them changed to high key, brighter lighting as the man turns the lights on and walks in.
The Low Key lighting is a typical convention of rock videos.
Near the end of the video, the lighting changes all together to something more unexpected.
There is an explosion on red (it may be paint) and the light goes red.
Cinematography
The camera movement is very different in this video. You could almost describe it as jolty as the camera tilts up down and across.
Editing- Fast paced editing has been used in this video. When the song is at the slower bits the editing is at the same speed however when the song gets fast, so does the editing. it is a good way to reflect the song
Costume
The costumes used in the video are quite basic. The band members are all wearing black except for the lead singer who is wearing black trousers and a white top.
Later in the video there are men
dressed as riot police with
helmets and bullet shields.
This could help reflect the rebelion of there music ad the fact the police are there.
